BFA (Black Females in Architecture)
Selasi Setufe is a recently qualified Architect exploring socially responsive approaches to design, architecture and placemaking with particular focus on cultural and environmental issues. She founded Crystal Design Studios shortly after completing her Masters in Architecture as a means of seeking out alternative modes of practice. Having recently become a Public Practice Associate, Selasi is based at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s wholly owned development company, Be First where she manages the Innovative Sites Programme. Prior to this, Selasi worked with Elsie Owusu Architects Ltd as a Lead Project Designer.
Alongside Alisha Fisher, Akua Danso and Neba Sere, Selasi co-founded Black Females in Architecture, an organisation and network founded to improve access to opportunities and increase the visibility of black and black mixed heritage women in the architectural industry and other the built environment fields.
Selasi is a trustee of Street Space, a CIC delivering locally-led community engagement & collaborative design in Barking and Dagenham. She is also currently a trustee and ex Co-Vice President for Students and Associates at the Royal Institute of British Architects.
