Orms , Director
John McRae is a director of Orms and has experience working across workplace, education, retail and hotel sectors. John focuses on creating architecture that balances individual and collective needs.
Over the last 10 years, John has developed a strong interest in creating environments that contribute to users’ wellbeing, in part through working with the charity Teenage Cancer Trust. This approach has proved just as valid in workplace projects such as No1 New Oxford Street, Working From_ and the Fora flexible working spaces. It has also translated into other sectors, such as the RIBA award winning Uppingham School Science Centre, the recently completed The Standard, London and Outernet, St Giles Circus which is currently on site.
John regularly contributes to a number of industry conferences, writes articles and provides comments for journals including Design Exchange, On Office, Architecture Today and AJ. He is currently a member of London 3.0 and co-vice chair of the RIBA North London Architects Group.
